The Truth

Sometimes the truth is in front of us dressed in high vis gear. Or it’s a flashing light right in our face, yet we try very hard to refuse to see it. With our ego voice trying to reason with our logic to keep us from accepting what is, well it is naturally a difficult process.Imagine living your whole life in denial because the truth is not what you want.. what you do want is the picture or story in your mind. And you are oblivious! And boy do we cling to it because it suits us and the story we are trying to create. Yet we are never happy and we never get there – all because we refuse to see! It might suit our desires and illusionary needs, but it will keep us from growing and moving forward in not only our power but our own truth. It will also keep us from reaching our bliss.Just because it is or can be a very slow process seems to deter us from doing the work and having patience and faith in our understanding that there is always something better in store for us!

The universe always has a plan for our highest good. We forget that a lot!

How do we face truth? Even if it means that we will see a part of ourselves that is not one we admire? Perhaps it means seeing others as far from ideal? One way is to step back into impartiality. Using that chatty mind and imagination to weigh up the realities and truths as if we were detached from a situation as a third party advisor and overseeing it with care, respect, responsibility and a moral guidance system for the right resolution. That would give us a whole new perspective! The same older friend who always gives the wisest advice once said to me that there are 3 sides to every story. Your side, the other side and the truth! As much as we want to believe our story is the truth – how can it be 100 % when it is filled with emotion, desires, perceived injustices, our ideas and our own perceptions. It is not a simple process – to become an observer of our own little ignorant ways and to even own that we are not being truthful with ourselves. It’s quite ironic that we expect honesty from those around us yet each and every one of us will lie to ourselves in order to protect our vision.

Perhaps it is unconscious, it must be because I never realised exactly what it entailed until recently! Can we be as fair, compassionate and want only the best for ourselves as we do for others? Are we able to see when the balance is out and that we are not in a place of safety for our own good? What about the consequences of our choices and actions? Of course we can!

I believe you will find that once you begin to notice that fluorescent truth and deal with it, and most importantly accept it growth will begin again. A maturity and understanding of the lessons learned from the ability to treat yourself as fairly and truthfully as possible will arm you for your next adventure. With it a new strength and new integrity will become part of your authenticity. You will be so able to walk towards what calls you with a sense of faith, dignity and joy.

Much love,
Tess x
